September MANNA

So the first MANNA of a new year seen Gordon McDade join us. So much good stuff. Questions Gordon put to us:

  1. What am I learning?
  2. What do I want to learn next?
  3. Who am I mentoring?
  4. How does my lifes authenticity validate my message?

This last question was what we focussed in on. Gordon said that it was important we look at our:

  1. Conversion
  2. Call
  3. Character
  4. Contribution

We can work on our character by:

  1. Reading alot (esp biographies, not just of christians)
  2. Confessing
  3. Reflecting
  4. Being Mentored
  5. Self leadership

Gordon also siad that in years gone by he always had at the top of his talks/sermons - AIM. What is my main point? We also need to answer the 'SO WHAT?' question in our application, so we just don't impart information but we look to transform lives thru the Holy Spirit.

2 other interesting conversations looked at 'inappropriate self disclosure' and ' stewardship of influence'.

A lot of info to stew over. Thanx Gordon and for all who attended (Charlie Knox, Jill Boyd, Andrew Frame, Rick Hill, Dave Currie and Katrina Patterson)
